This book presents a comprehensive collection of practical cases related to the most common financial decisions in the management of any company, developed by professors from the Finance Department at Deusto Business School in recent years. Specifically, it presents 35 case studies and 22 short exercises; all of them cover topics such as financial forecasting and analysis, the study of investment projects (both under certain and risky conditions), the calculation of the cost of funds, and the analysis of financing decisions.
The book aims to be useful for the financial management of any company: in this sense, it deliberately avoids approaches applicable only to large, listed companies, focusing instead on topics of more general application. It is conceived as a natural complement to another book published in this same collection, “Elementos de Finanzas Corporativas” (Elements of Corporate Finance), by Fernando Gómez-Bezares, which develops the content discussed here from a theoretical perspective.
In this collection, the reader will find a sufficient number of cases resolved in detail, while the remaining cases will require their own solutions. In any case, there is also a chapter with somewhat more theoretical content, in which the reader will find a description of the methodology used in resolving the various cases.
